# Instruments and position limits
Every instrument has a maximum position size.
This keeps risk in check across the more than 170 instruments available to trade.

## How the limits work
On a **US Stocks** account the limit is a single number: up to **10,000 shares** of one ticker, whatever the ticker, within one Challenge. The tables below are for the **Crypto + TradFi** market.

Position limits apply to the **overall position size, including the leverage** used to open it.

Every instrument has two figures:
* **Max position limit for one lot**: the most you can open in a single position.
* **Max position limit**: the most you can hold on that instrument in total.
